Aditya Majumdar

I’m passionate about leveraging the power of AI to drive social good, creating innovative solutions that address societal challenges, promote inclusivity, and enhance the well-being of underserved communities.

I’m a first year PhD student in Penn State’s college of IST, advised by Amulya Yadav. I’m currently working with a Philippine NGO to develop an AI-driven application that reduces clinical documentation time, allowing caseworkers to focus more on supporting children affected by sexual assault.

Bio

In my senior year, I researched the ability of Large Language Models to work with code-mixed inputs. As a DAAD-RISE scholar under Dr. Heiko Hamann and Eduard Buss, I contributed to bio-hybrid systems research by converting Ivy plants into sensors for environmental monitoring, applying machine learning and time-series analysis. During my sophomore year, I interned as a web developer at Legal Fundi, a South African firm providing free legal resources to communities in need.

I served as the Vice President and Head Operating Director for TEDxPSU . an organisation which provides a stage for local communities to share their stories for the common good. Along with that, I was a camp counsellor for Kesem Central PA , fundraising for children who have been affected by their parents cancer.
